You ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD

Jesus was speaking to a crowd of just ordinary folks. Yet Christ said to them, "You are the light of the world" (Matthew 5:14). Even today, you are the light of the world. That's how God intends to get his work done on earth today: through you! It's not just pastors and missionaries who are the light; it's everybody who loves the Lord.Jesus also described His people as being like light, which is on the outside. The light speaks of the testimony of a follower of Christ, revealing and illuminating the truth. Jesus is telling us to shine in any where we find ourselves. If you are not shining as a Christian, that's the wrong representation of our Christ Jesus. No matter how small a candle stick is,it will light up dark room. No matter where you are or how small you are, you must shine in anywhere you go. Light has so many features and advantages in our lives and we have to make use of theses features so that Christ might be glorified. 

How to Be the Light of the World
1. Share Your Faith in Christ
God takes an ordinary person and uses them to share His message to people who needed Him. When we share our faith, we spread His light. You were saved to shine! Don't hide your testimony or be ashamed to take your Bible to work. Don't be afraid to pray over your lunch at school. Let others know that you love the Lord Jesus.
2. Take Light Where It’s Dark
Jesus describes what we are in this passage - the light of the world, not the light of the church. That means we have to get beyond the church walls and take the light out to where it is dark.
3. Shine Together as the Church
Jesus also talked of the strength of collective light. Each house in a city with its lights on cast a glow across the sky. As Christians come together, there is a glow for the Lord that we cannot create individually. We shine brightest when we shine together.
4. Live Surrendered to the Lord

How can we shine for God? Jesus says that we are to let our lights shine before men in such a way that they will see our good works and glorify God (Matthew 5:16). That's how we do it. We live for God. Till I come your way next time, shalom...

PEACE IN THE MIDST OF STORM (part 2) 2. Do not stay in fear (verse 40). Another thing that we need to remember when we are in a storm is that we should not stay in fear when a crisis hits us. Let’s face it. All of us get afraid when we are in a difficult situation. But we must not stay in fear! The cry of the disciples in verse 38 does not come as a request but as an expression of utmost fear. They felt that their Master didn't care about themselves. Mark gives a graphic description of the fearful situation that the disciples were in. Verse 37 is rendered in the Analytical-Literal Translation as: “Then a great storm of wind comes, and the waves were splashing [epeballen] (imperfect tense – past continuous tense) into the boat, with the result that it is already being filled [Gemizesthai] (present tense – present continuous tense).” The disciples were in a terrible situation. CHANGE YOUR THINKING, CHANGE YOUR LIFE. Proverbs23:7a. For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. Have you ever noticed or surprised that there are people you know who are still at the same place and spot you left them five years ago? They  are still at the same complaint counter, they still have the same unfulfilled dreams ,same level of procrastination and have refused to move forward or advanced in life or their career, relationship and their commitment to God. They are still thinking in the same direction they were thinking five years ago. They have simply refuse to embrace the innovations going round the world and the 21st century advancement.
